1947

Okano Trading Co., Ltd. was established
in order to expand the distribution channel for valves.

Our founder, Mitsuru Okano, founded Okano Valve Mfg. Co., Ltd. to develop valves that withstand high temperatures and high pressure. After overcoming various obstacles, he succeeded in development and manufacturing of the very first valve purely made in Japan. Mitsuru Okano, who was later called the “Father of high-temperature, high-pressure valves”, established Okano Trading Co., Ltd. as part of the company’s sales department.

Okano Trading Co., Ltd. was inaugurated as a result of the dissolution of the zaibatsu (conglomerates) after World War II in Japan.

Before the War started, products made by Okano Valve were distributed by Asano zaibatsu. The dissolution of the zaibatsu after the end of the war put a halt to valve sales. Mitsuru Okano, being racked with a sense of crisis, established Okano Trading Co., Ltd. so that it could take over all the valve sales.
Right around when the company was founded, no employees were hired from Okano Valve Mfg. Co., Ltd., as their aim was to cultivate the sales skills of people who had been hired externally and had nothing to do with valve manufacturing.
As it had not been long since the war ended, very few buildings were available to be used as an office in Moji. Okano Trading employees had to work in a spare room in Mitsuru's house or at their own homes in order to be able to use the phone.

1948

Osaka Sales Office was established

1949

Became a sole distributor for Karatsu Valve Industry Ltd.

Increased the number of suppliers to expand the sales network

Mitsuru had always had his eyes set on expanding various sales networks, just like the present Okano Trading has been, to increase the number of suppliers who purchase not just valves, but various other products. As the first step to achieve this, he established Karatsu Valve Industry Co., Ltd., for whom Okano Trading is the sole distributor, to sell their products. Originally, our company had been outsourcing the manufacturing of medium to low-pressure valves to Karatsu Valve Industry.
In contrast to Okano Valve Mfg. Co., Ltd., that mainly handles high-temperature, high-pressure valves, Mitsuru using Karatsu Valve Industry, as a company that mainly manufactured medium to low-pressure valves, to expand the company’s sales network was proven to be right. As a result, Karatsu Valve Industry has always stayed as one of our major suppliers to this day.

Tokyo Sales Office was established

Yokkaichi Sales Office was established

1968

Expanding equipment sales other than valves.

In order to expand steady business performance, the Osaka and Tokyo offices were established in succession. At the same time, the company set out to expand the sales of other products in addition to valves in the industrial equipment fields. One of these products was a flow meter. Around the same period, Spero Kikai Kogyo Co., Ltd. which manufacture high temp./pressure bolts joined us as one of the affiliated companies.

1972

Nagasaki Sales Office was established.

1975

Okasyo Service Co., Ltd. was established.
Expansion into the maintenance field.

Along with the company’s product diversification, the number of our customers significantly increased. The Construction Department, that specializes in equipment maintenance, was established to provide support for the stable operation of the equipment we delivered to our customers. Okasyo Service Co., Ltd. was established in 1975 to provide more enhanced after-sales services, such as on-site repairs, commissioning and maintenance of various valves.

The Construction Department was established in order to meet customers’ demands

Okasyo Service Co., Ltd. started as the Tokyo Sales Office’s Construction Department. This all began with one customer’s request. The customer didn't have enough in-house resources for the maintenance of their equipment, so they asked us to dispatch some manpower. Although we were lacking know-how in doing this, we started dispatching our personnel.
There were many maintenance companies they could have asked to do the job, but we thought the fact that the customer had directly asked us (to consider doing this) was the proof that they had a lot of trust in us.

1994

Surpassed the sales revenue of 10 billion JPY

1994

Shin-Nichinan Co., Ltd. was established
to take an active role in the environmental industry.

Promotion of environmental conservation, which had started to become the center of people’s attention in the 90s, was an issue our company could not miss because it was tightly connected to our company’s business operations as we supply equipment for electric power plants. In 1994, Shin-Nichinan Co., Ltd. was established to join the municipal garbage incineration equipment industry.
Since then, we have contributed to the enhancement of environmental equipment and recycling equipment.

Environment/Recycling field that grew to become our company's core businesses

Okano Trading had the foresight that the environmental industry would make a great contribution to society and achieve drastic development. With this in mind, they took particular interest in the former Nichinan Industry’s industrial equipment business. Okano Trading inherited all the licenses Nichinan owned, and established Shin Nichinan Co., Ltd. by making capital investments. This had given them an opportunity to join the environment/recycling field that is currently one of the main business operations of Okano Trading.
Since its establishment, Shin Nichinan has engaged in the design, manufacturing and sales of environmental/recycling equipment. Our mixers (DAW mixers) have especially become one of the top products, boasting a record of more than 2,500 units sold.

1999

Increased the capital to 72 million JPY.

2002

Seoul Support Office was established.

2006

Increased capital to 90 million JPY.

2008

Kanazawa Sales Office was established.

2017

Celebrated 70th year in business

We will go down in history being known for our honesty and determination.
